This track consists of two 16 bar segments.
The feel that I was going for was a Hip-Hop meets Latin vibe, kinda how artists used to merge genres in the 90’s.

For the kick drums I used Logic’s OE Ultrabeat instrument. Within the instrument itself I stacked kick number 1 which has more of a kick drum fee to it with kick number 18 which has more of a bass drum feel. together they give a punchy bass drum.  the drum patterns change every measure. For the claps and Hi-Hats I once again used Ultrabeat for the first 16 bars I used a single clap by itself and on the second 16 bars I stacked the handclap with a center snare and a snare rimshot. for  Percussion I kept it simple with a basic shaker which also changes over time between the first and second set on 16b bars.

The bass was created using ES2 (Synthesizer 2). this was my first time playing around with this particular Synthesizer so I kinda just played with the settings until I felt satisfied with the output.

The Harmony follows as Am |C |B dim| Dm. I went with a simple harmony with some notes inverted and the melody stays within the range of the main harmony and switches to the latin rhythm during the second verse. I usd some apple audio loops from the loop library to add some pizazz. the airhorn was used as a transission from the Hip-Hop section ton the Lation portion of the composition.

For audio recording I used my microphone to record the word hey which I wanted in the background as a chant.

All instruments are using a compressor with a 4:1:1 Ratio, Threshold within the range of 30-40 and knee set depending on the instrument type and role in the composition. also active on each instrument is a Channel EQ. Deleys, and Reverbs were applied to the kick, claps, Hats, The melody, The vocals and the Air Raid Siren.
